“All body systems would be immobilized without the nervous system. It controls and regulates every bodily activity down to the workings of the tiniest cell.”

Lynell

Master Certified Practitioner

Lynell credits her late father for passing on his special gift to her. “He could determine what was wrong in a body by placing his hand on the back of one’s neck.” Her mother encouraged her to use this inherited gift. “So with the loving support of my husband and daughter, eventually I did.”

Initially, Lynell pursued a corporate career in human resources, but couldn’t stop thinking about this gift. So, she obtained a degree in holistic nutrition while studying The Bowen Method.

Since becoming a Master Bowen practitioner, associate instructor, member of ABMP, NCTMB and the American Bowen Academy, she has worked on over 10,000 bodies. She says her experience and compassion led her to develop effective, custom protocols that enhance the body’s healing abilities.

The Bowen Method

The Bowen Method is a dynamic system of muscle and connective tissue therapy that was developed by the late Tom Bowen in Geelong, Australia.  Sometimes called the homeopathy of bodywork, it utilizes subtle inputs to the body through the use of our hands, stimulating the body to heal itself, often profoundly. The moves are gentle, but purposeful, and are done through light clothing. Between each set of moves, the practitioner pauses for as many minutes as are needed for the patient’s body to begin responding.

This modality can provide relief for many types of injuries and other health problems, both acute and chronic. The practitioner’s moves deliver signals to the nervous system at specific locations (on muscles, tendons, ligaments, or nerves), and the body responds in its own time, within its own healing capability.

Rather than focusing on a single complaint, it addressed the entire body, by restoring balance via the autonomic nervous system (ANS). The ANS controls over 80% of bodily functions and is very susceptible to external stressors. Most people today live in a constant state of high stress. Healing can occur only after the ANS shifts from sympathetic to parasympathetic dominance (rest, relax and repair mode).”
